There is no way to deny the fact that 90s fashion had a huge influence in how we dressed and it makes a really strong comeback at the moment. While not all clothes are popular right now, it is still worth taking a look at those clothes that basically created the entire 90s fashion era.
Jelly Shoes
These were really popular during the holidays and made people feel as if they are cool. Even now, they are popular and any great excuse to wear a pair is a good excuse.
Oversized Tops
This is definitely a staple of 90s fashion. You saw them in the men departments in stores and the basic rule was to wear something that was over 3 sizes bigger. The tops were sports themed or commonly patterned, all combined with a large color selection for leggings. You surely already figured out that the trend is back.
Cleopatra
Cleopatra is known as a band but it also made a fashion statement at that point in time. The sisters had a great look that is easy to recognize. This includes bright fleeces, braids, chunky trainers and tracksuit bottoms.
The FRIENDS Rachel
There are many things that came out of the highly popular FRIENDS TV show. When referring to 90s fashion, the Rachel Green character set a trend in the hairstyle associated, together with various textures, layers and highlights.
90s Hip Hop Fashion
We all remember the MC Hammer trousers, baseball caps, tracksuits, fades and oversized baseball jackets. That is definitely something that is familiar and we all know the clothes. While the trend is no longer as popular as it was in the past and it even died at one point in time, the comeback happens as you read these lines.
Bowl Haircuts
The name says it all. Basically anyone at that point in time had such a haircut. Curtains were also quite popular then.
Double Denim
This was practically everywhere in 90s fashion. We are faced with a trend that is highly affordable since all items are cheap and basically all celebrities wear double denim. The trend appeared due to B*Witched’s influence. The Irish charms and catchy songs are unforgettable. Just make sure that you do not go overboard as it is easy with double denim.
Britpop Fashion
Different bands like Oasis and Blur were huge 90s fashion icons. They had back mod haircuts, green parkas and aviators. Girls were highly influenced by Spice Girls stars and many other Britpop bands.
Leather
90s fashion often showcases PVC, leather and basically shiny materials. Leather was definitely what was really popular when referring to celebrities, ranging from catsuits to tops. Without a shadow of a doubt, the Beckhams are the ones that actually committed to this trend.
Designer Tagging Present On Clothes
In the past the simple mention of a design’s name was incredibly popular. It does not matter if the t-shirt was just simple, black. If the brand was known, it was popular.
Jeans With High Waists
Denim was everywhere and most jeans did have high waste. The common approach was to combine a pair of jeans with oversized t-shirts.
